Network-Fibre Technician

Your Challenge
We have a vacancy for a Network Fibre Technician to join our Field Engineering Services team based in Dublin. The main purpose of the role is to provide support to the SWARCO network and fibre team. Rotating role between on the road fibre works and in-house networking.
Your Challenge
This role requires a good level of technical knowledge and proven capability.
- Support the fibre optic team in the installation and maintenance of the fibre network and associated equipment
- Inspection of network equipment and technical record keeping
- Supporting in-house network and comms lead tech with testing, patching, IP configuration, record keeping, system maintenance and upgrades
- At times you may be required to work overtime and/or participate in a regular call out roster
Your Profile
Essential
- Strong technical and practical knowledge of networking and communications systems – Cat 6, Patch Panels and Switches, IP networks
- Computer literate and technically minded
- Experience with fibre optic cabling, splicing, and terminating
- Attention to detail: Record and technical report writing, data administration
- Eagerness and ability to learn quickly on the job
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
- Department of Education Leaving Certificate or equivalent
- Ability to work on own as well as part of a team
- Organised, trustworthy and self-motivated
- Proven excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience working within H & S guidelines and regulations. Reading and understanding Risk Assessments and Method Statement's
- Full class B driving license
- Right to live and work in Ireland
Desirable
- Fibre Optic Guild & Guilds 5 Certificate
- CISCO Networking Qualification (CCNA)
- Maintenance of Fibre Optic Networks
- Experience in working with CCTV
- Safe Pass
- Manual Handling
- Truck License
